The island of Elba is accessible from Piombino Marittima, where four companies (Toremar, Moby Lines and Blu Navy + from June Corsica Ferries as well) run several comfortable ferries that cross the strait with high frequency. In just one hour, or less, the ferries cover the distances that separate the island from the mainland, reaching the ports of Portoferraio (the principal), Cavo and Rio Marina.

Alternatively, there is a hydrofoil, for passengers only, which takes just 35 minutes to reach Portoferraio.
