COSTA DEL SOLE stretches from the foot of Mt. Capanne (1018 metres), on the SW side of the Island of Elba, and includes the villages of Cavoli, Seccheto, Fetovaia, Pomonte, Chiessi e Colle d’Orano/Patresi. Starting from Marina di Campo, these centres are located along 16 kilometres of Elba’s Western Ring Road, the panoramic route that offers breathtaking views over Costa del Sole, the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, and Corsica.

It is the sunniest part of the Island. In the summer it is refreshed by the Mistral, a wind that makes this coast the surfers’ paradise. For the rest of the year, it is well sheltered from the cold North and Northeast winds. The climate is really pleasant during the high season, as well as in low season. Thanks to its steep and indented cliffs that silhouette against a deep blue sea, its crystal-pure water, its small bays and its picturesque villages of peasant tradition, Costa del Sole is a highly appreciated tourist area.

Nature lovers can find their pleasure at sea, snorkelling along the cliffs, exploring colourful creeks and beaches in a canoe or pedal-boat, or challenging wind and waves surfing or kiting.

Hikers will find treks through old vineyards, surrounded by the blossoming of the maquis, quickly winding from marine villages up to a world of scents and silence. Some of the granite walls are equipped for climbing.

And the romantic will enjoy unforgettable sunsets, with the sun sinking into the sea or setting beyond Corsica in a kaleidoscopic dance of colours.
